I'd personally love to live forever, but that doesn't mean I'm going to. It's actually a highly childish notion to think that pretending there's an afterlife somehow makes you immortal.
Yes, it is highly childish to think that you'll live forever. That's why Jesus said heaven is for people with a child like trust.
People forget what's it like to live without a care.
I have, it's called being an adult. So I don't wait for that chilled out feeling, I just believe.
I can't accept that people are born to perish.
Alright, that is you. You can't accept that people are born to perish. You don't want to.
Then don't pretend you are right. You're believing a fantasy because it makes you feel better. I call that childish. Now, I don't really care what stories you tell yourself to sleep better at night. But, if you choose that path, don't pretend you have any grounds in academia or reason or truth. You shouldn't be voting on those grounds, you shouldn't be making intellectual decisions on those grounds, and your religion shouldn't be running schools. The more society's systems are based on this kind of fallacy, the less good and effective they are at actually improving people's lives. I see that as evil, and it's why I am an antitheist.
If heaven is a place for "people with a child like trust" that sure as hell is not that place for me.
