I was thinking about this in the sense that it's interesting to think why any sports are segregated in anyway.
Why is it a thing to segregate men because men are on average better at certain sports than women, and heavier fighters have an advantage in combat sports, age groups, but it's not a done thing to segregate height in basketball, races in running or swimming.
The reason of segregation at all seems to be in order to create more champions, more high earners and I'd guess create more events that people want to see and pay for.
So as for a reason as to not segregating races I can only imagine the reason for that and other segregations are that it wouldn't generate much pay per view interest.
People aren't really interested in seeing the fastest running white guy or the black guy who's best at swimming. They just want to pay for best man, woman and then further segregation by age groups.
Additionally races aren't as easy to organize as age, gender and weight, that would be a factor.
I'm saying people want to see sports segregated male and female but there's obviously a huge disparity in popularity between male and female events in a lot of sports.

It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to.
