Aaaannndddd...every thread about Christianity eventually turns to free will.
If you actually read the account, you'd see that pharaoh hardened his heart himself, more than once, before God did so.
No there is not ONE LICK of the claim of "free will" in that book, not one lick.
The very first story is a rigged bet where two innocent poker chips were used as pawns in a bet between the God character and the Lucifer character, as to which neither Adam and Eve were aware the bet was made, had no knowledge or say in the set up before hand and were punished for something they were ignorant of.
The God Character simply barking orders is not the same as having a choice.
All the characters below God in that book of mythology are written to glorify that character friend and foe alike.
Having a choice in real life looks like this.
Me, "I feel like having a hamburger tonight. No, on second thought, maybe a pizza." <-----THAT IS A CHOICE.
The entire book's message is "Obey me or else!"
Tell me where the free will was for the Parkland victims? Did they go to school that day and say, "Hey, today I feel like having my brains blown out in class."
Tell me where rape and murder victim Polly Klass's "free will" was, when a drugged up nut butchered her?
Tell me where the free will of the 6 million Jews of WW2 who were shot, gassed and burned?
No sorry the claim is nonsense.
Your God character doesn't allow suffering because it is good, the God character allows suffering as a prop so that when you are in fear or desperate you turn to him. It is a book of fiction, but I am talking about the intent of the writers.
The God character is written like an arsonist who is also the fireman. Like any good mafia boss, has his minions walk into your business, breaks a few things, then threatens you to pay protection money.
