The ONE time I got the flu, it was my Freshman year of college after being required to get the flu shot in order to attend. Haven't had a flu shot since, and haven't had the flu since.
You science-y people can make all the claims you want. I'm not buying them, because I'm evidence against those claims.

I've gotten flu shots every year they were available, only got the flu once. I suggest that my attribution is more logical than yours.
