No atheists are even capable of hating God. So indeed, there's nothing to fear.
Theists on the other hand, have to worry that their life would fall apart if they stopped believing in their silly nonsense... when in reality if they deconverted they'd most likely eventually end up a lot healthier and happier, after they got over the initial loss of faith, and realized what it meant and that there really was nothing to fear, at all, besides reality and facing it, like a true adult.
