How can anyone smarter than a cabbage judge one culture using another's morality across time?
Are you so stupid as to believe that your morality is universal?
If so then why do so many others living in the world today see you/people living in the west as pure evil?
So, according to you; our "standards" today has no place in the past.
Because as you suggest, "the truth" changes, as the society and the culture changes?
Same argument was said in defense of the gruesome acts done by ancient Jews to the natives of the holy land.
We are not judging people. We are judging "the act". The act is evil; the act is barbaric, the act cannot be described but as a shameful mark in consciousness of every defender of the current bible.
A moron is the person who agrees to believe in such hideous passage in the first place.
So then how does God permit this if He does not change?
God is righteous. Righteousness has nothing to do with Morality. "Morality" is earned by the acts we do, while righteousness sanctifies those once or even currently morally wrong acts.
