Theists, I know the bible is a rule book on how to live our lives.
The bible/The whole bible represents two completely different religions. and Theists also know passages like this are derived from OT judaism. Meaning these are the rules needed to be followed if one wanted to be an OT jew. The law is divided up into three categories. the social law (rules concerning day to day life, slavery, social activity. there is the temple law/how to worship God then there was the moral law, how one should behave.
We all know that unless we want to be OT jews we do not have to adhere to the temple laws not the social laws. only the moral law is observed, and only in so far as to convict us of sin.

Quote:I want to know what guides you in your bible cherry picking? Your parents? Your priest? Your own morals! (god forbid!)?So says someone who does not even understand to whom the bible is written. let lone how to apply it.
And when you do cherry pick the non moralistic rules, how confident are you that God also doesn't mind what you're ignoring from HIS book?
Maybe God frowns down on murder just as much as wearing mixed fabrics?
On what authority do you know otherwise? From another man? You mean God hasn't told you it's OK to wear mixed fabrics? You are so brave in my book!
Quote:I agree, why stop at BONDS polycotton undies.garbage summation based on garbage understanding. Is it really easier to 'snow man' your way to a win than to actually understand what we believe.
If we're gonna burn, let's do it properly!
Why not cherry pick the shit out of it till there's nothing left then? The burn isn't going get any hotter is it?
Let the walls of the fallacy dam burst right open!
Indeed!
