I hear ya, can't find the time to read a good science book without falling asleep anymore on the sofa, let alove those inane drivels about beings that are there if we really want to believe they are there.
Work, family, sleep (a bit of forum in between, not an FB guy).
Read the science book AND holy book; in other words distribute your reading time between the two. That way you'll read both.
The Quran is about 600 pages. Imagine years spent reading just these 600 pages as the share needed for religion: you'll know the message of God directed to you with details. Unlike the thousands of pages the religious institution put in front of you.
There are 24 hours a day. Maybe if sleep or friends are affecting your ability to do other activities freely; you need a smaller circle ? and less sleeping hours !
In Japan, lots of people (40 % actually) sleep for less than 6 hours a night.
