If I discovered God was real, it would make no difference either. Like you, I am interested in what values people hold. I care ultimately about their actions.

I'm impressed that you're now managing to separate these factors. We're all people, with all sorts of different world views, and atheism is a non-factor. Some theists base their world view around god; some don't. Either way, there doesn't have to be any conflict from this.

Sure, I was only offering a guess on your religiosity as you offered more information. I accept you don't feel you're a religious person. Neither am I. I find the whole thing ridiculous, but I have no problem with other people being religious as long as they aren't hurting anyone or forcing it onto people or into law.

I appreciate the compliment, but I'm pretty damn open minded so what I think tends to change with the winds. That said, I think that if people can base their world view on a belief in God, I don't understand why people can't based their world view on a disbelief in God. The thing here is that we live in a world where people do believe in God and it sometimes influences their actions. Because there is an opposing view and since society is complicated as all fuck and things get all mixed around with everything else, then this means that a lack of belief in a God can influence one's world view. But this is just my worldview I suppose... To explain, I watched a documentary on the chaos theory. This is basically that if you have two things and nothing else involved, you can predict things, but once a third element is known, it's impossible to predict anything. So while it looks as simple as "do you believe in a God?" it's really not IMO because there are all these categories and subcategories that change things. In short, I don't think it's really all that binary. I think there has to be a middle ground somewhere.

I wasn't like offended or anything when you said i was religious. I just don't really consider myself that way. "rules" and the like have never really been something I have been good at. I'm a lot better at thinking in an unconventional way than following a specific path.

Again, that doesn't really mean fuck all. No one here really cares about labels...

We are what we are. You either believe or you don't. simples Dunno You never ever need to justify your lack of belief to anyone ever.
It's the default human condition. If someone wants to make outrageous claims, the burden of proof is on them.

See above. IDK what the default human condition is.
But your individuality and your present need will be swept away by change,
and what you now ardently desire will one day become the object of abhorrence.
