Hey! Spam is quality reconstituted shoulder detritus brined in a mixture of salt, salt, sugar, and potato starch. It;s basically every food group.
Once bought a can at a high sierra camp on the 7th or 8th day of a cross Sierra trip on foot, mostly eating freeze dried. Stopped beside the Merced river, got out the camp stove and fried it up in slices for lunch. Can't think of very many meals I've enjoyed more. Oh that fatty, meaty mouth feel. Yum.
