You do not follow duetoronomy and believe that you are not required to, as you have been delivered from it. Good, because it's full of laws regarding the treatment of slaves, and who can be put to death for putting it "where it doesn't belong, or when it doesn't belong". What I am saying, is that the new testament isn't any better. It's more of the same, with the addition of thought crimes, and endless torture for finite transgressions (among other choice bits).
This is what I'm getting from this:
1. People with finite life spans are committing crimes that have eternal punishments.
2. How could finite decisions, by finite creatures, impact the eternal nature of a God? (especially a loving God)
Answer: God's eternal presence is overflowing with purity and perfection. Most of the finite decisions, the finite people are making are impure and imperfect. A being that is completely pure, completely perfect has no need to coexist with impure and imperfect creatures. It is only love that stops such a being from destroying all imperfection to make way for perfection.
This is what I'm trying to tell atheists:
1. Soon God will destroy all imperfection to make way for perfection.
2. God has created a way for finite creatures to repent and be in his presence.
3. Everyone will be given the chance to hear about God and choose.
4. Those who deny, defy, hate or purposely ignore God will get what they deserve based on how they have lived their lives on earth.
5. People have the free-will to live their lives however they see fit, with God or without God.
The NT is where Christians learn to become better Christians by imitating Christ's behavior on earth. It explains our deliverance from the laws of Deut & Leviticus and the supremacy of Christ over all evil, over all apostles and all prophets.

That's cool. Just don't come here and expect not to catch a lot of shit about it.
I know.
