Things can be similar for me, due in part to my OCD and Autism spectrum disorder. In my case, the problem area is my fingernails. If I notice one thing that isn't the way I wanted it, it can be hard to concentrate on anything else; and that can translate into physical discomfort (even if it is psychosomatic). And even then, I usually take care of that in an area that's more secluded (like a bathroom or maybe some other room where nobody else is).
