Now my husband has got a job I'm going to give him my i7-7700K and build a new rig for myself. It's going to be a grind box with as many cores as possible, each core with its own FPU, that will run 24/7 processing at 100%. It will run Linux and my own experiments that run as many separate programs communicating over sockets. It won't use too much RAM or have to read / write the SSD / HD much.
Any idea what CPU I should get? Have the latest Intel CPUs fixed that bug where a processes could read each other's pipelines? Power usage, heat and noise is also a consideration to reduce my electricity bill and prolong the life of the computer.
