People to mix authority with chosen lights and leaders like Jesus, always, ultra-emphasize on one leader being unique or they as a people being above other people and chosen by God, when the fact is God's chosen leaders are a grace of God found in every culture, his revelations spread through the earth.
All holy books emphasize on the chosen ones in contrast to non-chosen leaders, and the latter are the anti-Christs, the one's who oppose the one that God anointed as King himself, and is the one who appoints leaders and not the people.
And were it not the fact the intention to disobey God to obey leaders from the community always is when love of those leaders are loved as much as God or even more so, then it could be forgiven, but dark are the hearts who ignore God's teachings and obey people who God has not chosen and have no proof for their authority as if they are God's chosen leaders and equate the proofs of God with ambiguities, the clarifications with conjecture, the knowledge with opinion, and mix everything all up.
The Catholic Church is anti-thesis of the whole Torah and the books all the way up the Gospels and definitely contradict the Gospels!
Can you at least have the humanity to set religion aside and agree that diddling children is unacceptable?

Corruption of many kinds always happens when you hand the trust of God's leadership to people who are not chosen by God. The generations leading to Noah all had to do with people naming themselves with name of God (ie. leadership and representing morality/value/enlightenment).
Diddling children is definitely unacceptable but there was never legitimacy in the authority of the Church in the first place.
And not only has it lead to that, but oppression of the whole world, is due to people settling to follow people blindly without proof.
Kids in Africa starving is for this exact reason. All wars are for this reason.
The solution has always been the same, trust and follow the leaders appointed by God and disbelieve in those idolized and who people obey while disobeying God, and reject all leadership as far as the light and morality goes aside from God's anointed Kings.
