Just click that 'deselect' text; you've done it before, you can do it again. Basically if that message is showing at the bottom of the screen, then it means you'll have the dragging old posts problem every time you post until you click on the 'deselect' text, at which point the message will disappear and the problem will stop.
But after that, yeah it would probably indeed be a good idea to have a time out to observe the forum and study the rules and advice and let it sink in. Good luck.
