If you think giving voice to 50++% of your fellow countrymen who would rather trump become compost is worse than trump, despite recognizing trump being a intolerable threat to all mankind, then you would wish to keep trump in power to hurt 50++% of the country that is your true enemy while obstructing some of trump’s actions that might harm you, so you would abstruct and keep quiet.
