I’d say:
The first time I watched “The Gold Rush”
Discovering the guitar and The Beatles
Getting a steel bat to the face and barely getting a reaction from the school besides “stop crying, for fuck sake.”
The first time I jacked off. (Also, shortly after, watching a brief scene in The Visit and finding out I was turned on by Bryce Dallas Howard’s feet.)
Finally leaving the hellhole that was my old grade school.
Finding the first legitimately decent woman in my life with my guidance counselor.
Joining the academic bowl in High School.
Being the whole academic bowl for one college year and still managing to defeat most of the other schools in the one tournament we did.
Getting into Columbia.
Losing my mind enough that I finally got some psychological help.
Joining the Anglotopia team.
Discovering the girl of my dreams, and then finding out she’s gay.
My mother finally dying (my therapist, my Dad, and I suspect this may have been the best thing to happen to me.)
Graduating with honors and working on a story with bestselling author Jane Hamilton.
Falling into a severe depression, and getting over it with the help of A) Accounting courses, B) a job at a candy store, and C) Luvox.
Being published (7 stories and a brief memoir) in an anthology.
Those are the highlights so far.

I was born with the gift of laughter and a sense the world is mad.
