The scientific proof is indeed overwhelming. It's just not that scientists have found other planets that can support life, but in collaboration with the size of the universe, I certainly feel its nigh statistically impossible for their NOT to be life on other planets
And then there's all the global legends about how we have had "visitors" from "the heavens". It's just too much. Then there's all these accounts of abductions and surgeons having to remove alien implants! Overwhelming.
And considering that extraterrestrials mastered space travel, they have WAY better technological advancements, as in technology that can understand God. Not like this feeble humanity and its science. As advanced as humanity has come with its science, it would be foolish to hold faith in a field that is always changing. I am only presenting a likely theory that even an atheist can appreciate. God could of easily been misinterpreted as an extraterrestrial.
