The man took a life. He shot somebody in the face and somehow you believe he does not deserve to die?
Except that the evidence offered for conviction has:
a) been recanted by several witnesses or found to have been inconsistent
b) been tainted by alleged witness coercion by the police.
But hey, he "shot" and "killed" a cop. No room for cross examination here, your honor. Just fry 'im. After all, we can't have cop killers ever get loose (never mind all the "regular" killers that are released).
I despise special protections for certain groups, especially when there is a long standing history of corruption and hiring from the shallow end of the gene pool.
