It was started when he got elected, and it kind of chronicles all that happened over the two years. There's enough to give you whiplash if you watch real-time. All the significant stuff was in there, plus a plethora of opinions and funny stuff. I've always wished for history books that are just collections of comments and opinions, hopes and fears of the actual common folk living through the events. You know, to get a real feel of the times. It's a huge, long thread and no one has the time to save it, I know I don't.
I was at TTA for 6 years, I joined soon after hubby died. It helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life. I will be forever grateful to everyone who was there.
So it's time for a new start again? I am getting too old for that shit, but I'll give it a shot.
I joined not long after you. I joined when my transgender daughter came out to me and my other daughter's boyfriend's family, who were over the top evangelicals, were causing enormous havoc in my life. I was at a loss and had no one to talk to. Then I stumbled onto TTA and the rest is history. All that upheavel is past so now I'm here because it's fun and I like the company. I usually get along with people and I think it comes from being the youngest in a large, very poor family. I learned very early how to get along with others and be a little easy going.![]()
.........except when it comes to trumpladites. Grrrrrrrr. I'm not easy going then. Fuck em!
Yep, when hubby died all the religious came out of the woodwork driving me up the wall... I needed a place to rant! The last thing I needed to hear then was religious platitudes. TTA was the first time I had actually socialized with fellow atheists. Up to then I had just gone through life without belief and somehow surrounded myself with people who just didn't talk about religion. It was great to see so many people openly talking about not believing.
