There's no reason to feel sorry for him though, he's not here and he wasn't on TTA either for that matter. In his eyes we simply do not exist.
The strength of feeling surrounding him amongst some of us refugees is not so much what he did but how he did it.
Seth didn't owe us a forum but he did owe us to behave in a manner that is consistent with how his brand likes to be perceived and in a manner consistent with the message he promulgates.
It is my and I think quite a few others opinion that he failed abysmally on both counts.
As someone who is quite socially isolated and who visited the forum daily for over three years its closure leaves a huge hole that will be hard to fill regardless of the warm welcome that has been so generously extended to us by the folks here on AF, I'm aware this must sound kind of melodramatic and perhaps it is but the feelings are very genuine and it will I think take some time to get used to the new normal, we are only on day two at the moment.
Ah well, worst things happen at sea.. Looks like most of the people from there have ended up here anyway, give this place a chance I'm sure you'll grow to like it as much, and there are some decent people here..
Someone suggested starting a thread on Seth, I think that's a bad idea. Forget him. Onwards and upwards as they say.. Whoever 'they' are.
Your philosophy is good I like it, don't get me wrong I'm extremely grateful to you guys here.
I too have reservations about starting a Seth bashing thread yes, I'm extremely angry with him and it will take some time to settle down but such a thread would only be counter productive adding more fuel to the fire so to speak I think the short term catharsis of such a thread might have unexpected long-term consequences that we can't at the moment foresee.
