The best pizza I've ever had was from Tony's in Manassas - run by a family of NY Italians, of course, and the site of many a friend reunion, break-up consolation, and hang-over cure.
Down here, I go to Romano's, which is also run by a bunch of Italians but their pizza's inferior to Tony's (which means "still pretty damn good, and better than Domino's/Pizza Hut). They do make a good calzone and also wonderful Greek salads, though. And now i know where I'm going to lunch tomorrow.
I should mention "Fuel Pizza" down here in Charlotte. Fuckin' YUM. Garlicky, greasy, and absolutely amazing - they open the window shutters so you can basically drop down into the restaurant from the street through the windows and enjoy an orgasmic slice with their garlic knots and wash it down with a beer or two.
