On a more serious note: in 2016 I made my first Instagram account with a certain purpose in mind and had a username related to that. When my interest in that specific topic waned, I decided to turn it into a personal Instagram account and didn't want to use a 'basic' or 'cliche' username like _xx(my name)xx_ or whatever, so I was trying to come up with something witty. I didn't actually come up with anything worth using, and I was in a bad place mentally where everything felt hopeless (it was actually just teenage angst
) so I used savingthedodo, which is clearly a hopeless task (like I felt my life was :/). Thankfully I grew out of that, but the dodo seed had been sown, so I started using the more practical DodosAreDead (although not on instagram... otherwise I wouldn't be revealing that here.)
