Decision finally made; opted for a PS4 and have ordered it with next day delivery... so hopefully I should be playing Fortnite on it by tomorrow night 
I just hope this doesn't turn out to be the most expensive whim I've ever had But it has other uses, like as a media player etc, so hopefully I should get some good value out of it, no matter what I end up using it for. At the end of the day went for the PS4 over the Switch because it's more powerful and figured that if I want to play handheld games I can just play them on my phone (which I don't do as it stands and haven't for ages); so ultimately that portable aspect of the Switch is not something I really need. Plus the Switch just seems too much of a rip off in too many ways to feel like a comfortable purchase.
