Let's say a woman from the future arrived and accidentally ran into her great great great great grandfather.
She doesn't know that he's her great great great great grandfather.
They end up falling in love and having children and living a full and happy life.
Genetically speaking, could she be her own great great great great grandmother.
Genetically would it be possible ?
I think it would be possible genetically. That question is irrelevant though compared to the bigger physics question of whether or not you could travel back in time and cause your own existence. Not ruled out by our current understanding of theoretical physics so it's fair game as far as science fiction goes but obviously not to be taken seriously as actual science.
This is the basis of one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies, Time Rider. In this movie, a motorcycle rider in a race across Baja, California is unwittingly sent back through time where he fathers his own ancestors. Cool idea but it's a speculative exercise. If you're looking for a justification for a sci-fi story, sure, it's great. Not useful as real-world science, however.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
