I don't think you can so easily say that "most" of 1.5 billion christians (so over 750 Million people that you never met) are "morally compromised".
i'm pretty sure christians just see their God as whatever they want to see him as, and ignore or excuse the parts of the Bible they don't want to see. The "God of the Bible" can be seen as being whatever you want him to be: that's what an imaginary being is for.
In the same way we all see ourselves as being "smarter than average" despite most likely being wrong, christians believe what they want to believe. Nothing strange 'bout that.
Demonizing the other side will never resolve anything...
