This 5 min video makes a strong point on the God of the bible being a monster, yet most christians believe that God is morally good. Enjoy.
Except that they, like any normal human being, generally disregard the nasty shit. They've gotten better and better at this over time (good fucking thing they did too).

Nice. Don't think it told me anything I didn't already know. This kind of excuse making is a staple of religion. Force them to acknowledge the horrible things about their religion and with an almost 100% rate of success you will get backpedalling, 'might is right' arguments or a claim that you don't understand the context.

I don't think you can so easily say that "most" of 1.5 billion christians (so over 750 Million people that you never met) are "morally compromised".
i'm pretty sure christians just see their God as whatever they want to see him as, and ignore or excuse the parts of the Bible they don't want to see. The "God of the Bible" can be seen as being whatever you want him to be: that's what an imaginary being is for. In the same way we all see ourselves as being "smarter than average" despite most likely being wrong, christians believe what they want to believe. Nothing strange 'bout that. The "other side" demonizes itself. They've been doing it longer than I've been alive. I actually can't imagine any way in which I could do more harm to their beliefs than they themselves have already done. Maybe I lack imagination, eh Castle..lol.

Yes, christians do horrible things. All religions do. But many inside the religion only use it as a bonified deist God.
You can demonize fundies. However 5 billion people believe in a God, it's insane to call them all stupid/irrational/immoral.

They may not be, their beliefs are. Whether it's 5 people or 5 billion. People do terrible things, regardless, and that much is obvious. The terrible things that people do for, by, or because of god are in a class all their own. The current crop of gods has a built in mechanism for supporting ethnocentrism and bigotry and genocide (at the very least). In the end, god will do all the wetwork right? Every now and again the faithful get impatient. This is not a notion that I can easily dismiss, nor is it one that I believe has no effect on the "decent" believers.

I post a lot of videos on facebook like this... I really don't care what my "friends" think of it.
If they are prepared to argue with me, then they better do it well, or I won't hold back. I jump at every chance I can get to have a go at them for their silly/fucking retarded views. Cunt
