This is a summary of the hard evidence that supports the case that Madeleine died while on holiday, as opposed to being abducted.
Sniffer dog alerts
Eddie the cadaver dog is trained to only alert to cadavarine. This indicates a dead body only, and a human, only. He is an award-winning dog with near-perfect success rates. His work is backed up by a blood dog, who again alerts only to blood, and only human.
1) Behind the sofa in McCanns' apartment - blood smell confirmed
2) The wardrobe in the McCanns' parents' bedroom - blood smell confirmed
3) Bush outside McCanns' apartment (weaker alert)
4) Kate McCann's chequered trousers
5) Kate McCann's white top
6) Sean McCann's top
7) Maddie's toy "cuddle cat"
8) Key of McCanns' hire vehicle
9) Passenger side of McCanns' hire vehicle
10) Boot of McCanns' hire vehicle - blood smell confirmed
Number of alerts to other suspect's clothes, their cars, their apartments or other random alerts around the abduction site: zero.
So the McCanns are implicated over and over again here, with the smell of death. Gerry McCann's defence is that the dog has been alerting to other things in those locations, and has mistaken them for the smell of death. It is absolutely absurd to suggest that this dog could make 10 mistakes in a row on a single case; especially while not making any other errors around anyone else, if it was performing so badly as to pick up any old nonsense as cadavarine that day. Even if the dog was correct a single time out of 10, and statisctally you’d expect somewhere close to 9.9 out of 10 here, the McCann's have an unexplained contact with a dead body.
Physical evidence
1) Blood sample recovered from behind the McCann's sofa, which had caked under the tiles. This was statistically a match for Maddie. Their explanation was, "A nose bleed".
2) Dried body fluid recovered from the boot of McCann's hire car, which they got weeks after the disappearance. Blood dog had indicated it was blood. It was again a match for Maddie. Their explanation was, "There were no bodily fluids".
3) Sofa pushed back against the wall.
Testimony
1) The first time someone is heard shouting in distress for Madeleine is well before the alleged time of the abduction.
2) Kate McCann claims the shutters and windows in the children's bedroom were open when she first discovered Maddie was missing. She immediately "concluded" that Maddie had been abducted, rather than any other possible explanation, and that the abductor had broken in through the window.
a) Out of all the Tapas 7 who quickly entered the apartment, only one of them makes any mention of the window or blinds being open. Some others give strong indications that they were not. The one who did report it later admitted he heard it from another of the Tapas 7 (who didn’t report it herself), who in turn admitted she had heard this news from Kate McCann.
b) No evidence of a break-in was found. No fingerprints were found on the outside of the window except Kate’s. Investigation showed that breaking in from the outside would have caused severe damage which would have been very noticeable.
3) Gerry McCann is unaccounted for during the "discovery" of the abduction, and the following immediate search.
4) Gerry McCann is identified by the two Smith witnesses with 60-80% confidence as passing them, carrying a child, shortly before the alarm was raised.
5) The man Jane Tanner identified as being the prime abduction suspect turned out to be someone carrying their child back from the crèche, who later came forward. She lied about many aspects of this man, if it wasn’t just a coincidence in the first place, including the direction he was walking in and the position she was standing. (English police withheld this evidence for 4 months.)
6) Kate later changed her story completely about the abuction after having told everyone (including phoning people back in England) that the window had been broken into. After it became clear that the window was opened from the inside, and only Kate apparently noticed this, it was obvious it was later staged by her for the benefit of the police to see. She then claimed (somehow telepathically) that an abductor had come through an unlocked door into the apartment (she has previously claimed the doors were locked), had staged the abduction scenario themselves with the window from the inside, managed to walk off with Maddie without waking any of the 3 children, and then left again through the door.
7) Contradictions in testimony too numerous to list.
My conclusions
Evidence that an abduction has taken place: none, physical evidence and testimonies contradict the claim, which changed over time and grew to the point of absurdity; even if there was an abduction, they are clearly guilty of criminal neglect, leaving three toddlers alone in an unlocked apartment
Evidence that the McCanns had contact with a dead body at some point: very strong
Evidence of any other scenario: none
