Rik, there is a place for justice whence you reward goodness with more goodness, and there is a place for pardon and compassion whence you forgive the sins, and there is a place for vengeance and punishment.
If everyone deserved forgiveness, we would never hesitate to forgive anyone, it would be automatic. But forgiveness has it's place, forbearance has it's place, and so do vengeance, hate, and wrath.
Nothing we have is evil in itself.
And if it was me as Creator, I would have it that is care bear lala land with no evil on earth, but I don't have the wisdom the designer nor his patience nor his resolve to see us as better humans, nor am the one who has the right to try his creation nor do I see them as they are and know them to know exactly the degree of punishment they deserve.
And son and daughter is more appropriate for creation to talk in terms of, in that, we prefer love and compassion to them then giving them into justice. Like we would protect our son if we knew he stole something, not give him into the authorities.
But God is such that no atom's worth of evil does he make a soul not accounted for with nor an atom's worth of good goes without appreciation, and he tries us, to know which one of us is best in action and he will come to know the patient and those who strive.
No one - including God - expected Adam to fall, Iblis was boasting he would lead us all astray, but I think he didn't have much hope of misguiding Adam.
We live a tragic fallen world, which tragedy after tragedy, and culture of spreading evil insincerity to God and one another and the truth, has spread.
We patiently wait - in these days - but the oppressors and their helpers and those who watch by - they must pay the price.
