He has stood on the shoulders of giants, to be sure, and of course he has had failures, just like the giants before him. I worked in aerospace and defense for over 30 years, and have seen some spectacular failures...and some unbelievably spectacular successes. Trying for the stars is going to lead to some serious hubris, I will agree.
