Cultural Identities and Ships of Theseus
#3
RE: Cultural Identities and Ships of Theseus
Cultural dilution doesn’t trouble me. Cultures have always shifted, grown, shrunk, diluted.  Why should a cultural identity by sacrosanct? I identify as Irish, but the Ireland I grew up in isn’t the Ireland of today (they suffered when I left, poor sods Angel ) and I’m ok with that.

I think it’s important to remember that ALL cultural identities are transient.
