It's a problem all across the board.  A politician from any party can come in and stay indefinitely.  Many of them are crooked.

The idea of a border wall was around before Trump.  He's just the one currently being tagged with it.  I imagine we'll see some kind of compromise before it's all over, but right now it's a bunch of idiotic games between both sides.  Just yesterday the house passed a spending bill that completely excludes funding.  Waste of time.  They're trying to make a statement with something they know will get shot down.  If the Senate doesn't do it, which I'm assuming they will, it's just going to get vetoed.  They can try to run in back through, but I can't imagine it's even worth the paper it's printed on.

Sure, it is.  Just like when Clinton proposed it, it was a left thing.  Obama even had very similar ideas about it and it was a left thing.  Now it's Trump, so now it's a right thing.   As I said, I believe all the squabbling over it to be idiotic.  This is why most people are annoyed by politics.  I probably land somewhere close to the middle, but maybe a hair to the right.  When I vote for a republican, I hear about how I'm a "mean ol' communist troll".  When I vote for a democrat, I hear about how I'm supporting all the bad things they're going to do.  Really, I could give a rat's behind about either party, but it's what we have to deal with right now, so I vote accordingly.
