I want AOC to run!
I love AOC so far. But dude, she's only been on our radar for a few months. I want to see how things are going to go with her for a few years before deciding that she should be president. Right now, she is more celebrity politician than leader. Also, the Democratic Party would probably spawn a bunch of NeverAOCers. Her allegiance is to the Justice Democrats, and those guys are all about making war on the Democratic Party by challenging centrist Dems in primaries. Their objective is to completely replace congress with Justice Dems by challenging incumbent Dems. I'm not sure how it would work out, having a presidential nominee who is a member of a faction that is openly at war with the party.
I am also a little worried that Warren doesn't have what it takes to slug it out in a presidential election. I love Warren almost as much as I love Bernie Sanders. But she has never fought for election in a place that wasn't deep blue. She knows more about the politics and mechanics of her own party than she knows about slugging it out with a Republican in a competitive race. Hillary had exactly that same problem. She has never won a competitive race. She won her senate seat pretty much by the anointment of the New York Democratic Party.
If beating Donald Trump is the one thing that we want for sure, then the smart money would probably bet on Sherrod Brown. The odds of him beating Trump are generally considered to be right around one hundred percent.
