The war on terror is the biggest fuck up in human history, and it will backfire as hard as possible, probably becoming one of the contributing factors to the fall of the west.
The U.S and NATO literally caused unrecoverable damage to the "already damaged" Middle East; ISIS is one of the results for the west's foreign policy that supported Middle Eastern dictators for decades.
It is proven now that the Arab regimes -like Saudi Arabia- are the factories of Jihadists and maniacs; literally cutting a man up in an embassy is an everyday task for these regimes; those are the allies of the west; and how shameful and sad it is.
This policy must backfire; the children of the ISIS fighters and the victims of the western-supported Arab dictator regimes would tear Europe and America's interests just for revenge.
The western foreign policy needs a very heavy revision and updating. But my guess is that the societies of the west will pay a very heavy price for treating the life of others abroad as a mere "interest". Sadly it is the children and the innocent who fall first.
