He was a tyrant? Now tell that to his supporters. Because he certainly has as much supporters as the rebels(with proof that the Al Qaeda was in league with the rebels).

This shit too, is about oil. I'm sure that after Qaddafi is gone, the oil will be privatized, and sold for half the amount that Qaddafi sold it to the westerners.
Qaddafi was against western imperialism. True, he was a dictator.
But what good is a democracy that was brought to you by the west?
The promise of democracy, is an empty one, especially if it's made by western governments. Instead of providing relief for the people that died in the clashes, the west chooses to provide the rebels with weapons, in order to accelerate the clashes. The rule of Qaddafi, whose rule was all about keeping the oil firmly in Libyan hands, is much more preferrable to the imperialist rule of the west.
