Folks generally have to provide genealogical research and documentation of ancestry in order to apply for tribal recognition though, don't they?
And phenotype is not the criterion. Bloodline is.
Lineage is what matters.The connection to the ancestors.
Not skin or eye color. Or last name.
Believe or not, worthiness and acceptance doesn't come necessarily down to color for many native/indigeneous folks.
