As I said before, you have a point, it maybe valid or not, but you've made it invalid by default.

Well, other people may have declared it invalid. 

Here it is, as simply as possible:

~ People here are adamant that if you insult a living person, it's not bad.

~ I said that this man, while alive, insulted living people. 

~ Therefore, according to their own views of insults, I never said he did a bad thing. I said he did a thing which is not bad. 

Yet people find it insulting for me to say that he did a thing which is not bad.

There is a time and place to stand your ground. This ain't it. It's okay to be an insensitive prick sometimes, as long as you admit it.
