Right, it has to do with all of us being human. We are all capable of thinking we are being reasonable when we aren't.
And group-ness helps unreasonableness a lot. Mutual reinforcement. None of us is immune.

Absolutely. And this is very true of atheists on atheist forums. It might even be true of theists if (for sake of example) theists got together on a certain day of the week in moldy buildings and pronounced --by fiat-- that they recognized a truth that others didn't. Not that theists would ever do that or anything... but even if theists DID do that sort of thing on a weekly basis, you could be assured that they would be careful to recognize that there are a plurality of beliefs to be considered.
Atheists brashly assert materialistic philosophy as if it was the most plausible of all metaphysical theories. How narrow-minded of them!
Theists, on the other hand, would never be so narrow-minded. Atheists like to think that a great number of theists think that atheists deserve to burn and suffer for eternity just because they doubt the existence of their god. But no theist thinks that. Not a single one. And certainly not thousands and thousands of them.
That would be a weird thing for a group of people to communally believe, wouldn't it? But you got me thinking, Belaqua. I don't ever seem to have heard a single atheist say something like "theists should burn and suffer for eternity because they don't agree with me." Have you ever heard a single atheist say anything like that? I agree. Atheists can be quite opinionated at times. But I don't think I've ever heard a single atheist say that theists deserve to burn and suffer for eternity. Funny, huh?
Maybe I'm just not paying close enough attention.
