I don't think anyone here is trying to excuse or justify the slave trade (except possibly Dmitry, who is either a troll or an idiot or a bit of both), but instead are trying to point out that ANY individuals involved in the trafficking of human beings are not very nice people. That Europeans destroyed untold numbers of human lives through the slave trade is clearly beyond dispute, but this doesn't give those Africans and Levantines (or anyone else) who did the same thing a pass, simply because they did less of it, or did it slightly differently.
