Dmitry believes that this venial life is no more than a doormat upon which to wipe his shoes before entering the blissful forever afterlife of utter boredom.
On the other hand, atheists believe that this very one is the only one you have.
Given that, which is better motivated to make the world a better place? Certainly not Dmitry, He thinks he is away off to spend eternity grovelling. He has no motivation to make the only world we know for certain exists any better. He even has a motivation to refuse to even try. God made it this way. Don't oppose god.
It is another version of the justification used by islamic terrorists or isis.
