It’s been my experience that Once you realize that people’s senses of right and wrong generally tend to be self-serving, all this animus starts to make sense.
And it really helps that this is generally how social hierarchies tend to work:
Who ends up getting kicked and who ends up kicking tends to change, but as far as I can see, this impulse remains the same. It’s why every viable political system ends up sanctioning violence against someone or some groups on some level. You can argue that it’s horrible or unjust, and I’d honestly just agree with you. Doesn’t mean it’s likely to go away, any more than saying racism is bad and is based on premises that are empirically bullshit makes it go away. Why, yes, that does suck.
