This was my problem when I first started looking for God.  I had no idea which claim if any were true.  I spent around 8 years researching and going through quite a bit before I was able to come to a conclusion.  I can definitely relate to your frustration.

I thought you said you were "born again".  You do realise that the born again sects demand that you throw away all the evìdence without so much as glancing at it, right?

Not in my experience.  I fellowship with the Assemblies of God and there is schooling in the evidences of the faith at their Universities.  Personally, I didn't come to faith by that kind of evidence, but rather through personal revelation that I received through reading the bible.  Before that I was apathetic about religion and had no personal interest in it.
