Regarding point two during my days as an evangelist I accepted the doctrine of the trinity but had a different take on it.I too believed at once that it was one god in three different manifestations but there are certain text in scripture that contradict this and support a trinity and three gods.My interpretation of this is that there are according to the scriptures three gods but were one in will and purpose. This was evident in Jesus baptism and many other scriptures.
Matthew 3:16,17
16And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased
As you can see all three manifestations are present at once.Jesus also said that he would go to his father and sit upon his right hand thereby separating himself from the father and he would leave the holy spirit on Earth as a comforter teacher etc.

There is nothing people will not maintain when they are slaves to superstition
