Is it lawful to detain someone with a gun until the police arrive, in that state, if they are under suspicion of a crime?
If not, then that is their crime.
Did the black guy then turn around and try to wrestle the gun from one of the white guys?
Seems unlikely to me, but if he did, then who would blame the other for shooting him?
Them not getting taken in for 2 weeks is entirely separate issue.
It's got nothing to do with whether they are guilty or racist.
I hate to break it to you guys, but you do sound a bit like a mob when you get together sometimes.

Apparently the laws in Georgia do allow citizens to detain suspect criminals at gunpoint....
Seems like a bad idea to me too - but what it is is what it is...
