As people have been saying for so long, that which you haven't been reasoned into, what logic and reason will you use to convince those who are not convinced by logic and reason, ala Sam Harris?
I have a problem with that.
The vast majority of theists aren't reasoned into their theistic beliefs, yet the vast majority of theists that become atheists (deconvert), are reasoned out of their theistic beliefs.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
