It wasn't Skrewball brand, but I tried peanut butter flavored whiskey and wasn't particularly impressed. Too much going on at once. Pecan flavored whiskey, though, is similar, and something that I rather like. I'm sort of the queen of beverages. I'll try anything once, and have a dozen or so flavors of powdered drink mix, a couple hundred cans of sparkling water, 7-8 diffferent flavors of K-cup pods for my K-cup coffee maker, a half dozen teas in loose leaf, tea bags, and K-cup pods, a couple dozen beer singles to try, several twelve packs of Moosehead beer, a few other beers in twelve packs, a bowl filled with about twenty 50 ml sampler bottles of various liquors, several bottles of flavored whiskey, a bottle of Southern Comfort, a dozen bottles of wine, a 1.5 liter box of sangria and a twelve pack of sangria in cans, a couple six packs of hard cider, what's left of a six-pack of Redd's apple ale, and a dozen bottles of hard liquor: tequila, gin, rum, bourbon, and vodka.
Tonight I tried Wild Turkey "America Honey" flavored whiskey. It's sweet enough to give you diabetes. And I bought a bottle of scotch recently, even though memory told me that I don't like scotch. It was not particularly impressive on ice. I read where it's better neat, and it was. After retelling that tale, Chas clued me that you're supposed to add water to scotch, and I tried that this afternoon and found it quite enjoyable.
My current kick is a tour of the various varietals of wine. Sangria has made a big splash with me. And Chardonnay, particularly buttery Chardonnays, are nice. And the Rose that I tried told me that I'll be buying quite a few bottles of Rose.
So, I guess my long term mainstays in the alcoholic beverage category are going to be Sangria and Rose wine, beer, mostly lagers, tequila, and cinnamon flavored whiskey. I also have a bottle of root beer flavored whiskey, but that's not at the top of my list. Still quite good, though.
