I was visiting some friends - hobby xtians, but that's another subject - and there was a mutual friend there with an interesting theory; she maintained that a man's height in inches divided by his shoe size gave you the length of his, shall we say, 'vital statistic'. Applying the formula to my friend gave a result of 6 inches (whether this is accurate I don't know, and I care even less). When it came to my turn, it worked out as height=77 inches / shoe size=7 = 11 inches. I was well pleased with the result but somehow our friend wasn't convinced, and decided to revise her theory instead of reviewing the evidence.
