I read a news article at Fox News about John legend and mark Cuban having a twit-fest over where people should spend their money. Cuban was advocating spending money on food banks and John suggested both.
While I think initially that Cuban was being short sighted I thought more about it and he’s right. While hunger is a big problem and it would take government level action to decrease the need for more charity, he does make a good point. Feeding money into a system ( senate run off in GA in this case) that is just trying to retain/gain power, even when the purpose is to better the system, ignores the Impactful imperative for self sustainment And greed within that system. He claims defunding the politics and shunting that money into the need will be more impactful.
What I hope he doesn’t miss is that on the class distribution he’s in the one percent. I hope he still feels the same about defunding the 1% and distributing their wealth to the needy. Thoughts from the group on prioritizing needs or long term vs short term solutions?

"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post
