The caveat with that type of government is that it is wishful thinking. Hoping for one to arise and take over the governance of our country is foolhardy! On another note I don't know why people find it so hard to read OLB's posts and come to the conclusion that he genuinely dislikes both parties. The OP here is simply a statement of fact but people get all wacky and start spinning bullshit out of straw!
Oh well, it looks that way to me on most of the posts here where people bring up old grievances instead of addressing the OP. I've done it too so I'm certainly not innocent.
Thank you.
As I see it - the party loyalists are offended by reality.
They WANT there to be less guns (and theoretical less gun crime) - but history shows that a Democratic win (Or even the prospect of) in the Presidential election causes a wave of gun buying. (By Democrats as well... It's foolish to say it is just ( R )s).
So their actions ( voting ( D ) )has an effect they don' t like - increased gun sales....
And yes. It amuses me.
Holy crap, once again, stop blaming Democrats for the fear marketing of the companies and gun lobbies.
Exactly what is the alternative? Say nothing, do nothing? Nope, that isn't going to work. Anymore than never criticizing Islam will stop their zealots.
What needs to be challenged are the CEOs and lobbies. Car companies, big tobacco had lobbies to prevent change, they were challenged and eventually lost, and the were forced to change, and we didn't become a fascist state as a result of those challenges. I am sick of people coddling that industry. It should have no special rights or more rights than any other product sold in this country.
