Are lockdowns justified?

You know, masks also don't help if you lick doorknobs, but that doesn't make it pointless to wear one.

Unfortunately, if COVID-19 is airborne (and it may very well be)... masks are nearly pointless to wear during a COVID-19 pandemic.

What does that mean?

If masks don't work, as you say, then the only other option is complete lockdown to keep people from coming into contact with other people's droplets.

Lockdowns might work to "flatten the curve" in the first few weeks of the pandemic (though the evidence of that is thin). Keeping most businesses shut down for months, as most governments are doing, accomplishes little in terms of COVID, but, as Dr. Nabarro from WHO said, it only makes the poor people an awful lot poorer.

Let's run with the "lockdowns make people poorer".  They are alive, right?

The hill you plan to die on is your assertion that masks don't work.  Which is not your original focus of this thread.
